Today I had the joy ( and shock!) of playing hooky (legally, that is!) from work and helped out in Matt's class for their Harvest party. SOOOOOO much fun, but so much chaos.
First, each kid got a scoop of 3 different kinds of candy corn and had to sort them into groups. Most of the kids sorted them into bunches, but not Matt. He made a neat line of each type of candy.......hmm, future accountant just like his mama methinks:
The kids had a nice snack of pumpkin pie, cookies, and muffins. And then we decorated our own cupcakes - luckily not too many of the kids were wearing white!!
The best part was watching the kids interact. We are so blessed that Matt can go to Cornerstone and just love all of the kids, teachers and parents there. Every time Manny or I are there we know just how loving and welcoming environment it is!
More cupcake fun with Monty, Tyson and Taylor (I wish this one had turned out a little better).

The kids were really excited and were having a little bit of trouble listening...so Mrs. Jones plays "Simon Says' type games to get them to listen:
We did two crafts....we made candy corn out of construction paper and made bat masks.....
They had a fun "guess the pumpkin circumference" game where each kid got a piece of string and had to guess the length that would go around a pumpkin. Guess who got it right? That's right, Matt did.

The funny thing is that poor Mrs. Jones had to wrangle those monkeys for another hour before school lets out. Whatever they pay her, it's just not enough.
We had a bunch of fun! Tomorrow Matt doesn't have school so he & I will be "working" Meghan's Halloween parade & party at preschool. I LOVE Halloween :-)
