The official soccer banquet was Sunday afternoon.....it was really fun! They had a kids versus coaches game, a BBQ, a slide show, watched a movie in the gym and handed out all the red vines the kids could eat (we skipped the movie part. Just too hard on a Sunday night). Matt got acknowledged as the highest scorer and he loved that (of course). His best buddy Cooper played in the Stars league too, along with 3/4 of his class. The boys and their spoils:
Graduation day today was AWESOME! I can't say enough good things about Cornerstone Christian. His teacher was an absolute angel, and all the kids learned so much. The really nice thing is that since it's so small, everything is really personal and special. And it's even nicer to walk into graduation and actually know the parents and their kids. Yeah, the tuition stings a little sometimes but it's worth every single penny. Mattie's come so far this year - he's learned and grown.......his teacher told me today he's ready for second grade LOL. I don't think so!
Our boy:
Matt & Cooper (of course!)
What about this one says Meghan isn't thinking "HELP!"
All joking aside, they walked around like this all morning. It was so sweet and so representative of the way they are towards each other 95% of the time. She just adores him and he's so fantastic with her. I think this is one of my fave photos from today.
The fruits of all Matt's labor. He received an award for excellence in math achievement and of course his promotion certificate.
We continued the fun by taking Matt to dinner and let him pick anyplace he wanted to go. His choice.....Souplantation. I know, unusual but he loved it. It was so very pleasant - both kids did really well, we didn't have to rush out this time because someone was crying. It was a really fun dinner. Ok, so it didn't hurt that I surprised Matt by meeting Manny & the kids with graduation balloons for Matt. That kept them happy at the table too! Matt was pleased because the balloons were bigger than he is.
Of course Meggie got one too - maybe not a bouquet but we try to keep things as fair as possible around here. She was rather pleased too!
All in all, it was a great day. It was so nice to eat out and not be totally stressed out, especially at a salad buffet restaurant. Today was the best day!! I think Manny & I are just trying to appreciate every little thing with the kids and really make the effort to be more patient and enjoy them for what they are. We love these little monkeys!
Oops - almost missed a few pictures (heaven forbid!). Meggie really enjoyed the singing during graduation. She was very good and sat still most of the program, but did dance quit a bit during the "entertainment" portion of the commencement.

I enjoyed your update (and your blog!). I think the picture of them walking holding hands is the cutest ever. Makes my heart melt.
