A new safe place

Meghan's been really into wearing a necklace lately - luckily she loves the little shell necklace that Hilo Hattie's in Hawaii gives you as you walk in the door (translation: I don't care if that one gets broken). So she wears it everywhere - if I'm wearing one, she likes to wear hers too.

Tonight she was even wearing it over her pajamas. We read stories, sang our few songs, snuggled etc. Just before I turned out the light to put her in bed, I asked her to take her necklace off. I tried to ease this a little by telling her that we could put it in a safe place & asked her where she would like to keep it. She looks as me, folds it up ever so carefully and so small that it will fit into the palm of her hand, looks at me again, and shoves it right down the front of her diaper. I tried not to laugh too hard, but it was so precious. I was able to get her to leave it on her dresser and all is well. I love their little ideas!
