A Walk in the Park

This past weekend was crazy....ok, the whole week was crazy. Quarter-end @ work has brought us a really tight closing deadline. Usually we get 8 business days to submit financials to our corporate office but due to quarter-end and economic pressures on their end, we got a whopping 5 days to close. So we worked on January 2nd, even though the entire company had the day off, worked MANY extra hours during the week last week, and ended up working from 1 until 11 Saturday afternoon/night. And since a few of us are salaried, we don't even get paid for it...ugh.




On top of that, I have been told that I need to take it easy from my OB because we had a little bump in the road and I'm supposed to cut out anything "extra"........I will admit I kind of laughed at him (extra?? what does "extra" mean exactly?)





Anyway, I got a bit of a reprieve in that we were originally scheduled to work at 10, but it got pushed back to 1 in the afternoon so I decided to remind the kids who I was (and give poor Manny a break) and we went to the park. Boy did we enjoy it!




It was a gorgeous day, a very nice park overlooking the lake and we really enjoyed ourselves!

It's really funny how quick they change their minds. She was giggling and screeching for a minute and then goes cold and keeps saying "done".

It's a lot of fun to watch them interact. Matt is so very patient with her and always slows down to wait for her or help her climb something. He only rarely gets irritated with her when she snatches something of his. I guess we're blessed that he's so good with her. As for Meghan, she has to do everything Matt does. They both had to climb every slide, climb the rock walls, and she even tried to climb up the monkey bar ladder after Matt. She's the one who always screams "mine" at Matt....we're working on that one.

If this little wasn't a breath of fresh air, I don't know what could be. I even forgot that I broke our Christmas tree taking it down.....gotta love these little monkeys.

We keep telling ourselves it's just another 5 months and luckily things will change....in a good way :-).
