In an effort to broaden our little horizons (and help keep the kids hands' busy), we took advantage of a nice day and painted outside.
Miss Megs kind of looked like a samurai between the hairdo and because her arms barely hung out below the sleeves of her paint smock.
Matt, ever the professional, took this VERY seriously:
Here he is explaining his portrait. I think we've broken him LOL - he's the oldest little kid I know. He is definitely an old soul.
L'artiste at work:
Ok, maybe Matt's not that old. I CAN'T get him to stop doing bunny ears in any photos lately.
It's funny how their little personalities are so completely opposite. Matt's painting may be abstract, but it's structured. Meggie's, granted she's only 2, is total chaos.
Even their paints reflect it. Matt's are all neat, no colors mixed and had to rinse off his brush every time he changed colors. Meggie's are a total disaster. She only rinsed the brushed to make the water "pretty" as she would say. What a crackup!
So most artists are famous for some weird personality quirk...e.g. Van Gogh and his ear, etc. Here's Meggie's: she REFUSES to wear pants. We have to beg her to wear pants of any kind, God love her.
